What is your favourite Septura piece to play?

Bruckner’s Ave Maria. It’s simple, yet devastatingly beautiful. For me, the contrast between tender pianissimos and powerful fortissimos is utterly magical – it’s one of the works that really makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up!

What would you do if you weren’t a trumpeter?

It’s incredibly difficult for me to imagine a life without music at its core, but if you put me on the spot, I’d quite like to be a journalist or political commentator for the day!

Your favourite Septura moment?

Our concerts at the Lieksa Brass Festival in Finland last year. Amazing location, fantastic scenery, wonderfully appreciative audiences, and two great performances to boot!
