What is your favourite Septura piece to play?

Lassus’s Lagrime di San Pietro. Exquisite stuff! To satisfy its myriad moods and nuance we, as a group, are required to maintain a constant state of flux. Artistically challenging but for me, chamber music at its most rewarding. Click here to listen on Spotify.

What would you do if you weren’t a tuba player?

No idea. I decided I wanted to play the tuba six weeks after first laying my hands on one. I do occasionally daydream about having been handed a pair of drumsticks instead…wooden, not chicken.

Your favourite Septura moment?

It was great to travel abroad with the group for the first time to Finland in Summer 2016 – we received a very warm welcome and the concerts were special to say the least!
